Police said the incident happened around 9 a.m. on Sanford Avenue near Bowne Street in Flushing when one bus rear-ended another bus as they approached the intersection. One bus driver and 16 passengers were taken to local hospitals with minor injuries, according to the NYPD. Authorities said the crash did not appear to be connected to any criminal behavior, though investigators were still looking into the cause.

NEW YORK CITY - A man was slashed, and another person was pushed onto the subway tracks at a Manhattan subway station late Saturday night, police said. The incident happened at the 57th Street subway station in Midtown around 11:10 p.m. A 39-year-old man was found slashed in the left hand, and a 37-year-old man who was pushed onto the tracks suffered an elbow injury.
