"Los Angeles' infamous Trash House, previously freed of debris and detritus, is once again covered in garbage. A year after residents in the Fairfax District complained about piles of trash at a home on Martel Avenue, it has once again started to pile up at the so-called Trash House, KTLA reported. The brown, Spanish-style stucco home at 617 North Martel Avenue has been a lightning rod of criticism from neighbors for more than a year."
"It started in April of last year when neighbors first complained about smelly plastic bags that had been piling up in front of the home for months. I don't really know what's in that, so it could be anything, one resident told KTLA at the time. Probably stuff rotting, attracting rats and all sorts of things And if something happens to his house or him inside, no one can get in."
"After the property gained notable attention last year, his sister explained that Gaon is autistic and makes his money by recycling. At the time, the property attracted the attention of local Councilwoman Katy Yaroslavsky, Mayor Karen Bass and even a producer of the TV series Hoarders, the Los Angeles Times reported. Sanitation workers cleaned up the property and found a variety of objects underneath the rubble, including a Toyota car."
Trash has again accumulated at a brown, Spanish-style stucco home at 617 North Martel Avenue in Los Angeles’ Fairfax District after a prior cleanup. Smelly plastic bags and other debris have piled up for months, creating rodent and rot concerns and blocking access. The occupant is 71-year-old Vietnam War veteran Raymond Gaon, who reportedly recycles for income and is described by family as autistic. Neighbors and officials have raised fire and safety concerns. Sanitation workers previously removed debris and uncovered items including a Toyota. City council, the mayor’s office, and inspectors have been involved in enforcement and cleanup efforts.
