Since the start of the year, Santa Ana winds have fueled devastating wildfires in Los Angeles County, specifically the Eaton and Palisades fires. These blazes have consumed over 37,000 acres, resulting in the destruction of nearly 16,000 structures and tragically claiming the lives of at least 28 individuals, with others still unaccounted for. Cal Fire is actively investigating the causes of these destructive fires, which are now recognized as some of the most destructive in California's history. Fire crews are diligently working toward full containment as the community begins to assess losses and recovery efforts.
