Angel City FC's sporting director Mark Parsons announced that the team does not anticipate hiring a full-time head coach until June, dismissing earlier expectations of a coach by March. Interim coach Sam Laity has been leading the team during preseason. Parsons expressed confidence in Laity's experience and leadership. He noted that other candidates currently being considered are only available in June, and he aims to provide further updates soon. Angel City begins its NWSL season on March 16 against San Diego Wave FC, with Laity continuing in his interim role.
"The journey that we're on and the way the process is looking right now, I believe the head coach will be here in June," Parsons said.
"What I know is that they won't be here at the beginning of March, like I previously shared was one option."
