Josh Kasevich was selected 60th overall in the 2022 draft after a collegiate career with the Oregon Ducks. He debuted in Single-A slashing .262/.344/.336 and spent 2023 in High-A, hitting .284 with a 9.9% walk rate and 10.7% strikeout rate. Kasevich reached Double-A and then Triple-A in 2024, finishing with a .325/.382/.433 line in Buffalo and a 107 wRC+. Injuries in 2025 included a spring training back issue and a rehab wrist injury, and he managed only a .173/.272/.184 line in 114 Triple-A plate appearances. He posted improved on-base results in the Arizona Fall League but recorded no extra-base hits. Outlook depends on health and a return to his 2024 offensive form.
"Spending his collegiate years with the Oregon Ducks, the Toronto Blue Jays selected Kasevich with the 60th overall pick in the 2022 draft. The light-hitting shortstop made his professional debut shortly after, slashing .262/.344/.336 with no home runs in 122 plate appearances with the Single-A Dunedin Blue Jays. All of Kasevich's 2023 season was spent with the High-A Vancouver Canadians, where he slashed .284/.363/.365 with four home runs in 383 plate appearances, with a 9.9 BB% and 10.7 K%."
"He finished the 2024 season slashing .325/.382/.433 with three home runs in 173 plate appearances for the Bisons. As a whole, he had a 107 wRC+ and nearly hit .300. Unfortunately, Kasevich's 2025 season spiraled out of control quickly. He injured his back in Spring Training, then injured his wrist during a rehab assignment. When healthy, he slashed just .173/.272/.184 with no home runs in 114 plate appearances with the Bisons."
