Blue Jays relievers inscribed Alex Vesia's No. 51 on the side of their caps during the World Series as a sign of solidarity. Vesia is away from the Dodgers because of a "deeply personal family matter." Dodgers pitchers had already been wearing No. 51 on their caps, and Toronto relievers matched the tribute during Game 6. Vesia, 29, went 4-2 with a 3.02 ERA in 68 regular-season games and was 2-0 with a 3.86 ERA in seven postseason appearances. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts called the gesture reflective of athlete brotherhood and mutual respect.
