
"Iapoce has held a variety of roles since wrapping up an 11-year playing career in 2005. He worked as a minor league hitting coach for the Marlins' organization from 2006 to 2009. Iapoce spent the next three seasons as a minor league hitting coordinator with Toronto. From there he moved on to the Cubs, working as a special assistant to the General Manager from 2013 to 2015."

Anthony Iapoce will not return as the Tigers' first base coach next season. He spent three seasons in the Detroit organization and managed the Toledo Mud Hens in 2023. Iapoce earned his first MLB coaching job in 2016 as the Rangers' hitting coach and later served as the Cubs' hitting coach through 2021. He worked as a minor league hitting coach for the Marlins, as a hitting coordinator with Toronto, and as a special assistant with the Cubs. He was well-regarded in the Tigers' clubhouse, with players wearing "Coach Poce" t-shirts. He is likely to join another club.
