Tong (1-0) received a standing ovation from the sellout crowd of 42,112 when he took the mound for a six-pitch first inning."

Juan Soto, Brandon Nimmo, Pete Alonso, Mark Vientos and Luis Torrens contributed homers, including multi-run shots by Nimmo and Torrens. Tong's allowed runs came after two fielding errors in the fifth. The Mets have won nine of their last 13 games.
