White Sox Trade Ron Marinaccio To Padres
Briefly

The San Diego Padres have traded for reliever Ron Marinaccio from the Chicago White Sox in exchange for cash. Previously, Marinaccio was designated for assignment by the White Sox after they acquired him off waivers from the Yankees without him pitching a game. The 29-year-old has a strong track record, maintaining a respectable composite 3.22 ERA in the MLB and elevated strikeout rate. He remains controllable through the 2028 season, with one minor league option year left, which adds strategic depth to San Diego's roster.
Marinaccio has posted a sub-4.00 ERA in all three of those individual seasons, working to a composite 3.22 mark with a strong 28.2% strikeout rate.
The ChiSox claimed Marinaccio off waivers from the Yankees on Sept. 23, but he didn't make it into a game for the South Siders.
