Nick Cushing emphasized that his NYCFC players must harness their recent disappointments to grow as a team, demonstrating resilience during challenging times as they prepare for Columbus Crew.
Cushing noted, "In the good moments you realise you are making progress, and you are maturing and learning in that side of the game. Progress is really difficult in the moment, but we have to make sure this isn't every four weeks."
He pointed out that the challenges faced will ultimately contribute to their character, stating, "I have said this before that tough times make top teams."
Despite struggling, Cushing's side remains fifth in the Eastern Conference and is urged to show character, reflecting on how maturation in football comes through challenges.
