Manchester United prepares to face their rivals with a desire to secure a double after a previous comeback victory. To ensure a filled stadium, the club has reversed some controversial ticket price increases after criticism for raising prices and removing concessions. This has led to protests organized by fan groups in response to perceived exploitation, especially as season ticket prices are expected to rise further. Fans are mobilizing to express their discontent through various activities, including a planned sit-in during the upcoming match against City.
Ruben Amorim's side host their rivals on Sunday as they look to complete an unlikely double, after coming from behind in the final minutes to snatch a stunning comeback win at the Etihad Stadium in December.
The club were criticised in November for raising ticket prices for members to a minimum of 66, while also removing concessions for children and supporters over the age of 65.
Fan protests are expected to take place at Old Trafford on Sunday, as sections of supporters voice their frustration with the club's ownership.
Chris Haymes, a member of the group, said: 'So, they're trying to price them out of their seats, so we're going to tell you to sit in your seat, stay in your seat. That's your seat that you paid for.'
