Packet co-founder on censorship-resistant web hosting: 'A platform for web pages that are censorship-proof'
Briefly

Packet is redefining web hosting by providing a censorship-proof platform that enables users to host webpages without facing centralization or financial barriers. Co-founder Jesse Berger highlighted the operational freedom Packet offers, eliminating registration and fees typical of services like Shopify. The platform aims to protect creators from unforeseen censorship, citing the de-platforming of Parler as a critical example. By removing hosting fees, Packet not only fosters free speech but also enhances accessibility, allowing creators to expand their audience without financial burdens or risks of being silenced.
"We are offering basically a hosting platform for web pages that are censorship-proof," said Jesse Berger, Co-Founder of Packet.
"It's about freedom and accessibility," Berger explained, emphasizing the absence of registration and payment barriers.
"Parler was doing really well... but their hosting provider said, 'No, thank you. You're not allowed on our service anymore,' and they were out of business," he said.
"I pay 30 bucks a month to host my website. With Packet, I don't need to," Berger noted, highlighting savings for users.
