RTÉ has released a sponsorship package for a new radio show hosted by Doireann Garrihy, offering extensive promotional opportunities. The asking price is €225,000 for a one-year deal that includes multiple sponsor-credited segments on 2FM. Garrihy's show, airing from 3pm to 6pm weekdays, aims to engage a younger audience, part of a wider reshuffle of 2FM’s schedule. This strategic move reflects RTÉ's goal to enhance its reach in the competitive radio market, particularly targeting listeners aged 15-34, following Garrihy's recent return after a brief hiatus from the station.
Garrihy's return is part of a reshuffle of 2FM's daytime schedule, as the station tries to win a bigger share of the target 15-34 year old age group.
Tara Farrell, the sponsorship manager at RTÉ Radio, said: 'To launch a brand new radio show with such a high-calibre sponsor in place is a huge endorsement of both 2FM as a national radio station and Doireann Garrihy as a radio presenter.'
