Alameda County family sues Amazon One Medical over father's death
Briefly

The lawsuit alleges Philip Tong contacted Amazon One Medical when suffering from severe symptoms, yet was carelessly instructed to simply buy an inhaler, ultimately leading to his death.
To a reasonable degree of medical certainty, the lawsuit claims had Philip Tong received proper treatment following his December 18 consultation, he would have survived his underlying health issues.
The claim also highlights that Tong’s symptoms, including trouble breathing and coughing up blood, warranted immediate and appropriate medical attention, which the telehealth service failed to provide.
The lawsuit further argues that Tong's death could have been prevented if Amazon One Medical had acted more responsibly and provided adequate care in a timely manner.
