Cancer Survivorship Expert Named Chair of Pediatrics - News Center

Tara O. Henderson, MD, MPH, has been appointed the Founders' Board Centennial Chair of Pediatrics at the University of Chicago, effective March 31. Henderson brings extensive expertise in pediatric cancer survivorship and currently serves as the Arthur and Marian Edelstein Professor of Pediatrics. Additionally, she directs the Childhood, Adolescent and Young Adult Survivorship Center and leads crucial cancer prevention programs. Her research focuses on childhood cancer outcomes and aims to address the long-term toxic effects of cancer treatments, influencing care policies for enhanced patient outcomes.
Henderson's work aims to identify susceptible patients and develop early screening regimens, significantly influencing policy and practice in childhood cancer care.
