Despite missed target, Ontario cities pin hopes on program for foreign-trained doctors | CBC News
Briefly

The initial target of licensing 50 internationally-trained doctors by the end of 2024 was not met but has now been incorporated into a new target of 100.
Touchstone Institute reported that 28 licensed physicians are working in high-need communities, but 27 either left the program or did not pass requirements.
The goal is to bring physicians "into the areas of greatest need," as emphasized by Wendy Yen, senior director at Touchstone Institute.
Before the program was launched, both the College of Physicians and the Ontario College of Family Physicians called for faster licensing paths for internationally-trained doctors.
