'Our hospital serves people from cradle to grave - but it needs extra support'
Briefly

Reverend Dr. Jonathan Abernethy-Barkley, from Pond Square Chapel in Highgate, is running the Rome Marathon to raise funds for Whittington Health Charity. His goal is to enhance the children's ward at Whittington Hospital, making it more child-friendly with artistic decor, better overnight facilities for parents, and VR headsets for young patients. Plans also include a dedicated area for adolescents to socialize. Dr. Abernethy-Barkley emphasizes the hospital's community significance and the need for facility improvements to better serve local families.
A common phrase we hear in our local community is 'I was born at Whittington Hospital' or 'my child was born at Whittington Hospital'. The hospital has a real community feel and serves local people from birth to end of life.
Every donation, no matter the size, will help us create a more comforting environment for children and young people receiving care at our hospital site.
