'Survivor 48' star Charity Nelms reacts to Eva Erickson calling her 'fake': 'I was hurt'
Briefly

Charity Nelms, a 34-year-old flight attendant and recently eliminated contestant from 'Survivor 48', speaks out against fellow contestant Eva Erickson's claim that she is 'fake'. Nelms expresses shock at the label, asserting her genuine nature and explaining her supportive actions during Erickson's emotional moment on the show. She highlights how she felt protective of Erickson during her breakdown and clarifies that they are on good terms in real life. Nelms acknowledges the complexities at play, citing influence from another contestant, David Kinne, in the gameplay dynamics.
One thing I have never been called in my entire life - I've been called a lot of things and it has never been fake because truthfully I need to reel back the realness sometimes, because it can get me into trouble.
I was the first to run over to Erickson during her breakdown at the challenge. I felt very protective of her... she was going through this breakdown in front of all these people.
But I also understand where she's coming from because that's what she's being told by David [Kinne], referring to her former Civa tribemate who led the charge to vote her out.
