What Does "End the Stigma" Even Mean?
Briefly

The article critiques mental health awareness messages that call to 'end the stigma'. While it acknowledges the positive intention behind these messages, it questions their effectiveness due to their vagueness. Stigma is identified as a complex issue with public, self, and institutional components. The author emphasizes the need for specific and actionable anti-stigma messages to effectively address and combat the various dimensions of stigma, rather than vague calls to action that may lack substance or clarity.
What does 'end the stigma' even mean? How will we know when we've ended it? Do people know what stigma is, and if they, themselves, are stigmatizing others?
The advocacy side of me supports the intention of these posts. They illustrate that people want to reduce stigma and normalize the topic of mental health.
