"We're going to have our first kind of pseudo, bonafide cold front of the season dropping through today," National Weather Service Meteorologist Ana Torres-Vazquez said. This marks a significant change after a year of constant heat advisories extending into late October, where even highs in the upper-60s feel like a chill and provide relief to residents in Miami and Broward.
Expect more of the same under mostly dry skies for the weekend and into the work week," Torres-Vazquez said, indicating that while a cold front is coming, overall conditions will remain stable with little rain expected.
A coastal flood advisory for Miami-Dade and Broward has been issued by the weather service, meant to caution residents about high tides and potential flooding, rather than significant rainfall.
Temperatures dipped to 70 Friday morning at the National Weather Service's Miami office, with some areas reporting even lower, emphasizing a noticeable drop as the cold front comes through.
