"The approach and everything is the same. It's a similar situation that I was in last year with Kawhi being out and having to step in, step up, and provide not only leadership but great play on the floor."
"I think it's going to be an easy transition, an easy fit. I've always been a fan of Norm's game, and then he's a guy who's played with a lot of good players, a lot of great players, and he can fit in anywhere."
Tyler Herro will be sidelined until at least November after foot surgery and could miss the Heat's first 20 games. The Heat made a key offseason acquisition in Norman Powell, who is expected to fill Herro's primary scoring role while Herro recovers. Powell previously stepped up for the Los Angeles Clippers when Kawhi Leonard was injured, delivering leadership and increased production. Powell posted a career-high 21.8 points per game last season with 41.8% three-point shooting. If he sustains that level, Powell can provide the needed scoring and flexibility until Herro's return, and Herro anticipates an easy fit.
