The National Weather Service issued over 100 tornado watches in Florida, confirming five tornadoes in Broward, Palm Beach, Collier, Glades, and Hendry counties.
Forecasters indicate that while tornado risks will diminish, sustained winds of 39 to 73 mph from Hurricane Milton are expected to impact South Florida later this evening.
Meteorologist Ana Torres-Vazquez noted that flash flooding remains a concern for areas already saturated, despite the overall threat of flooding being limited.
With a tropical storm warning in effect until Thursday, the earlier flood watch has been canceled; the worst of the rain is now over.
