"I'm not part of the negotiations," McDaniel said. However, he emphasized that Smith is "an important person and player. He's a professional."
"I haven't considered anything other than I want Jonnu on the team," McDaniel expressed, reflecting his hopes for Smith amidst contract talks. "My experience with business is you let that play out."
