Jonnu Smith achieves goal of becoming Pro Bowler with Dolphins
Briefly

Jonnu Smith, tight end for the Miami Dolphins, achieved a remarkable breakout season in 2024, setting franchise records with 88 receptions, 884 yards, and 8 touchdowns. His impressive performance earned him a spot in the 2025 Pro Bowl Games after replacing Travis Kelce, who is participating in the Super Bowl. Despite a slow start, Smith's consistent work ethic and dedication were recognized by coaches and teammates. The Pro Bowl festivities will be held in Orlando, featuring skills challenges and a flag football game.
Turns out the 2024 Miami Dolphins actually weren't shut out when it came to Pro Bowlers. Jonnu Smith, who set a Dolphins record for receptions, yards and touchdowns at tight end this past season, was named to the AFC roster for the 2025 Pro Bowl Games.
Smith, a former Florida International standout who signed a two-year deal worth $8.4 million last offseason, caught a record-setting 88 passes and turned them into 884 yards and eight touchdowns in the 17 games he played for the 8-9 Dolphins.
Even though Smith got off to a slow start with the Dolphins, the 29-year-old, who spent his previous eight seasons with the Tennessee Titans, New England Patriots and Atlanta Falcons, was consistently praised for how hard he worked by his coaches and teammates.
Smith was routinely the last player off the practice field, and now he reaps his reward, achieving one of his main goals for this season.
