Carnival Corp. is set to launch a new cruise destination, Celebration Key, in the Bahamas starting July. This $600 million project, designed from scratch, offers amenities like a pier for large ships, water slides, scuba diving, and various dining options accessible through walking or swimming. With the pier expansion planned for 2026, it will accommodate up to four Carnival ships at once. This initiative reflects a broader trend among cruise lines investing heavily in private island resorts to enhance passenger experiences and profitability.
Carnival is enthusiastic about Celebration Key, with 20 of its 27 ships expected to sail there, including all five based in PortMiami.
Described as a new destination from the ground up, Celebration Key will have a pier with up to four berths for Carnival's largest ships.
