Heading to Miami's Calle Ocho festival? Avoiding it? Here's how to navigate the roads
Briefly

The Carnaval Miami, organized by the Kiwanis Club of Little Havana, epitomizes Miami's vibrant Hispanic culture. Since its inception in 1978, this annual festival attracts over a million attendees, culminating in the popular Calle Ocho Street Festival on March 9, 2025. Significant road closures and detours will be in effect throughout the weekend, beginning March 8, to accommodate the festivities. Residents are advised to utilize local traffic access and alternate routes to navigate the disruptions, as police stress planning ahead to minimize delays.
"Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and use alternate routes to avoid delays in the area," police said in a statement.
"Since its founding in 1978, the multi-event party has celebrated Hispanic culture. The annual festival draws more than a million people to the streets of Little Havana for the closing Calle Ocho Street Festival event."
