Relocating to Destin, Florida, due to a military assignment turned out to be a delightful surprise for the author. Initially apprehensive about leaving the Midwest, they discovered a beautiful community that combines the advantages of urban living with a relaxed, small-town atmosphere. Particularly enamored with 30A, a scenic highway featuring charming coastal towns like Seaside and Rosemary Beach, the author appreciates how the area transforms during the offseason, allowing for a quieter and more intimate experience with its picturesque surroundings.
The Emerald Coast is beautiful and fuses big-city amenities with a welcoming, small-town community, making it a wonderful place to live and thrive.
Moving away from the familiarities of the Midwest was scary, but we've learned to love our slow-paced life in Destin, especially during the quiet offseason.
