Two meerkats at Belfast Zoo, which arrived in January, have welcomed two pups, much to the delight of the zoo team. The healthy family can now be seen exploring their habitat, which is designed to resemble their natural environment. Meerkats are social animals that live in family groups, known as mobs. Zoo manager Alyn Cairns expressed excitement about the new pups and the potential for expanding the meerkat population at the zoo, which has a long history of breeding these engaging animals.
The meerkats have already welcomed two new pups, a testament to their comfort and happiness in Belfast Zoo's facilities.
Visitors can enjoy watching the family interact, dig tunnels, and explore their habitat that closely mimics their natural environment.
