The incident happened on Marques de Sao Vicente Avenue, where the plane subsequently collided with a bus. While authorities promptly recovered the bodies, several individuals sustained injuries. Among them was a woman from the bus who required hospitalization. Sao Paulo Governor Tarcisio de Freitas praised the swift response of the fire department in containing the flames to mitigate the situation, highlighting the potential for even greater disaster if not for their efforts.
"Unfortunately we started the day with this tragic plane crash," Sao Paulo Governor Tarcisio de Freitas wrote on social media. "It is worth highlighting the quick action of the fire department, which extinguished the flames in just a few minutes and prevented this tragedy from being even greater."
Authorities recovered the bodies of the pilot and copilot from the plane. The Beech F90 King Air crashed on Marques de Sao Vicente Avenue in Barra Funda and then hit a bus.
Several people were injured, including a woman traveling on the bus who was taken to the hospital. Four others were hospitalized with minor injuries.
