Brian Setzer reveals he "cannot play guitar" due to autoimmune disease
Briefly

Brian Setzer, co-founder of Stray Cats, has disclosed that he can no longer play guitar due to an autoimmune disease that causes his hands to cramp. While he experiences no pain, playing feels awkward, akin to wearing gloves. However, Setzer remains hopeful, sharing that he can now perform simple tasks like holding a pen and tying his shoes—a significant improvement, as he previously struggled with them. Setzer is receiving treatment at the Mayo Clinic and is determined to overcome this challenge, despite ongoing effects that began after the last Stray Cats tour.
Towards the end of the last Stray Cats tour I noticed that my hands were cramping up. I've since discovered that I have an auto-immune disease. I cannot play guitar.
I know this sounds ridiculous, but I was at a point where I couldn't even tie my shoes. Luckily, I have the best hospital in the world down the block from me.
It feels like I am wearing a pair of gloves when I try to play. I know I will beat this, it will just take some time.
With a hint of optimism, the musician said he has progressed to the point where he can hold a pen and tie my shoes.
