The Cannabis Justice & Equity Initiative (CJEI) has expanded its services to Harlem's Polo Grounds Housing Projects, offering workforce training and legal assistance aimed at individuals adversely affected by the War on Drugs. Founded by key figures including Terrence Coffie and Sean Farrow, the initiative seeks to bridge the gap between cannabis legalization and community inclusion. CJEI provides education essential for entering the legal cannabis market and is committed to expunging past cannabis-related convictions to uplift marginalized communities in New York.
CJEI's Executive Director Terrence Coffie emphasized that the program is designed to ensure equal access to opportunities in cannabis."This initiative was created out of a deep commitment to our communities," Coffie explained. "We want to make sure that people have the resources they need to successfully step into this industry."
As New York moves forward with cannabis legalization, CJEI is working to close the gap between policy and accessibility, ensuring that those most impacted by previous prohibition laws are fully included in the industry's growth.
