The company provided updates, stating that the problem stemmed from an upstream provider affecting ChatGPT, the API, and Sora, and reassured users they were investigating.
As of December 26, 2024, at 12:06 p.m. PST, OpenAI was still addressing the issues causing the unexpected downtime for many users.
