Michael Barker's journey to uncover obstructed views started when he attended a college football game and encountered a giant light pole blocking his view. This experience motivated him to inform fans and improve their game-day experiences and led him to visit nearly all college football venues across the country.
Barker emphasized the importance of warning fans about obstructed views, stating, 'After that, I wanted to warn people about obstructed views because of how I was impacted.' His commitment is apparent as he has now visited 222 stadiums in pursuit of this mission.
'I started to light fires on social media, and since then we kind of branded it as obstructive-view alerts,' Barker explained. His initiative has gained traction and evolved into a movement aimed at ensuring fans enjoy clear, unobstructed views during games.
Barker dedicates himself to extensive preparations for each stadium visit, starting seven months in advance with research, photos, and seating charts to provide fans with the most accurate information about potential obstructed views.
