Met Éireann meteorologist Brandon Creagh stated, "As it hits the cold air, which is just to the north of us, it's going to bring some wintry falls." This highlights the incoming weather system's interaction with existing cold air, resulting in varying weather across the country.
Creagh also emphasized, "Once that low pressure moves away during the week, we get put into a sharp northerly airflow, which is going to pull down some Arctic air." This indicates a significant shift in weather patterns, leading to frost and ice.
He noted, "We will get some significant frost and ice where any lying water is around those nights," warning about the potential dangers of icy conditions after rainfall.
Creagh concluded, "Tomorrow, Wednesday and Thursday are likely to be the coldest nights of the week, as overnight temperatures will drop below freezing to between -2C and -4C," encapsulating the severe drop in temperatures expected.
