The Rail Accident Investigation Branch is investigating the incident where a passenger's hand became stuck in the doors of an Elizabeth line train, resulting in minor injuries.
The investigation will look into how the incident occurred since theoretically, a train should not depart if doors are obstructed and safety measures failed.
Nearby passengers alerted the driver as the train moved approximately 17 metres after the passenger's hand was trapped, prompting an urgent response from railway staff.
The RAIB will analyze the event sequence, actions of those involved, and platform-train interface risk management, aiming to improve safety protocols and prevent future incidents.
