Sinn Féin TD Pearse Doherty raised serious allegations during a Dáil session, revealing that Deputy Lowry had attended 57 meetings concerning the Doncaster deal. Doherty's statements imply significant misconduct, suggesting that in August 2002, Lowry and two associates destroyed critical documents related to this deal at a rural location. This act was depicted as an attempt to suppress the truth regarding the negotiations and agreements involved, raising questions about transparency and accountability in political dealings.
Let me put some new information on to the record. Deputy Lowry had 57 meetings in relation to the Doncaster deal, including here in the houses of the Oireachtas.
Maybe he should explain why he and two others went to a rural farm, in August 2002, to burn the original documents pertaining to these deals. He did so to make sure that the truth would never see the light of day.
