The Milpitas Trojans dominated Palo Alto with a decisive 65-43 victory, bolstered by key performances from senior forward Jacob Wrencher and shooting guard Dylan Nguyen. Wrencher scored the first five baskets, starting the game strong and leading his team to a significant victory that moved them into first place in the Santa Clara Valley Athletic League's De Anza Division. The team demonstrated impressive offensive performance and rebounding skills, avenging an earlier loss to Palo Alto, showcasing their readiness for the season's challenges ahead.
For us to give up 20 points in a quarter to them, that gave them life and that gave them belief. Once you give a team that belief, it's hard to rein it back in.
I think we can take this anywhere now. We were ready to play at home, ready to see these guys at home, and ready to play offense with some confidence.
Champ does a great job with that team, they play their butts off. They're a tough team. They were hungry for this.
We really wanted it. We were motivated to come out and get that first knockout punch.
