Gender-Based NFT Price Differences Found to Be Insignificant | HackerNoon
Briefly

This article investigates racial and gender biases in NFT pricing, focusing on CryptoPunks, a pioneering NFT collection. The findings show that while there are notable price disparities based on race—specifically, darker-skinned CryptoPunks sell for less than lighter-skinned ones—the analysis indicates that pricing differences based on gender are not significant. Statistical tests further confirm these conclusions, aligning with visual data that suggests male and female NFT prices are nearly equal over time.
Our analysis questions the widely perceived gender bias in the NFT space by demonstrating that the price differences between male and female CryptoPunks are statistically insignificant.
Despite common assumptions, we find that the race-based pricing biases are clear in the CryptoPunks, where darker-skinned NFTs consistently sell for lower prices than lighter-skinned ones.
