Authorities in Bavaria have reported multiple drone sightings over Manching Air Base, suggesting possible espionage linked to Russia’s conflict in Ukraine and military installations.
The State Criminal Police Office did not rule out espionage, especially since similar incidents occurred in December at both Manching and nearby Neuburg an der Donau.
Manching Air Base, significant for aircraft testing for the German military, is becoming a target with drones believed to be capturing sensitive military data.
The Munich Public Prosecutor General's Office has now assumed control of the investigation into the drone sightings amidst rising concerns of security breaches.
