Google is now testing out different background colours for featured snippets on mobile. Sometimes showing with a blue or grey, the test mimics a similar treatment for featured snippets in knowledge panels.
This background shade testing aims to create a more cohesive appearance, potentially aligning featured snippets with the design of Answers in One (AIO) layouts.
These updates follow earlier changes Google made to normal snippets, as well as the introduction of site names and favicons in search results, signaling ongoing visual enhancements.
Kalushal Bherwani noted seeing this design in the 'Things to know' section, demonstrating that Google is experimenting with presentation for multiple search result types.
