Half of new hospitals promised by Boris Johnson will not be built for decades

At least half the 40 new hospitals pledged by Boris Johnson are now delayed until the 2040s, impacting patient care and staff conditions critically.

Wes Streeting, the health secretary, will attribute the halted infrastructure projects to the previous Conservative government's inadequate budgeting and the resulting financial strain on the NHS.

The review into the infrastructure projects has left around 20 planned rebuilds in uncertainty, jeopardizing patient care in deteriorating hospital conditions.

Plans for many NHS projects are shelved, according to Labour, highlighting that the critical redevelopment commitments have essentially been abandoned without funding or timelines.
