Governor Maura Healey is calling upon Massachusetts residents to observe a moment of silence at 10 a.m. during the National Funeral Service for President Carter.

On Carter's death, flags at state buildings were ordered to half-staff until Jan. 28, honoring his legacy of service and compassion.
Carter founded the Carter Center to promote conflict resolution and health improvements, embodying the values he championed throughout his presidency.
