Historic Los Gatos hotel could be replaced with 155 homes - San Jose Spotlight
Briefly

The Los Gatos Planning Commission has recommended a development project to replace the historic Los Gatos Lodge with 155 townhomes. This three-story housing project, to be developed by SummerHill Homes, includes affordable homes and parking facilities. Community leaders are supporting the project due to its suitability for the area, especially near Highway 17. This development raises concerns about the fate of the lodge, which has served as a significant community gathering place since 1958. The Town Council's approval is required for further progress on this project, which is aligned with state housing mandates.
This is a well-designed project, probably the best that we're going to do in this site. It's a site that's perfectly suited for multi-family housing.
The Los Gatos Lodge, a town icon since opening in 1958, will be demolished if the project goes through, a common meeting space for local organizations.
