Huskers likely to cancel spring game, says Rhule
Briefly

The Nebraska spring game, traditionally a significant event drawing large crowds, is likely to be discontinued as coach Matt Rhule raises concerns about player tampering. Rhule noted the lack of regulations regarding player movement and highlighted that showcasing players in a public event invites scrutiny from rival teams looking to recruit. The spring game attracted over 60,000 fans last year, but recent trends, including players entering the transfer portal immediately after the event, have prompted Rhule's intent to protect his roster from being targeted by other programs.
The word 'tampering' doesn't exist anymore. It's just an absolute free open common market. I don't necessarily want to open up to the outside world and have people watch our guys.
I dealt with a lot of people offering our players a lot of opportunities after last year's spring game. It doesn't make a lot of sense to showcase them for other schools.
