Sheen expressed excitement for the future of Welsh storytelling, questioning why significant events like Aberfan or the Merthyr Rising lack representation in theatre. He stated, 'Where is our Welsh canon of great plays? We can't do Under Milk Wood for the rest of eternity.'
With the former National Theatre Wales now defunct, Sheen's new venture seeks to grow organically without extensive funding, stating, 'I like the idea of starting small...build it slowly with care and with passion.'
Sheen emphasizes the need for diverse funding and the ambition of the theatre project, arguing for independence in its financial foundations: 'relying too much on any one source of funding makes you a bit vulnerable.'
