The World Health Organization reported that the last major health facility in northern Gaza, Kamal Adwan Hospital, has been rendered inoperable due to an Israeli military raid that severely damaged key departments.
Israel's military justified the raid by claiming the hospital had become a stronghold for terrorist organizations, stating that it was being used as a hideout for operatives since broader operations commenced in October.
Health officials confirmed that the Israeli forces detained dozens of medical staff, including the hospital director Hossam Abu Safiyeh, highlighting the ongoing targeting of medical facilities amidst the conflict.
Mahmud Bassal, a spokesman for the Gaza civil defense agency, emphasized that the Israeli actions have completely demolished the medical, humanitarian, and civil defense systems in the northern region, leaving them rendered useless.
