"Obviously we're doing it on this structure, but if you want to do this on your mantel, your staircase, on top of a piano, or a console, layer different kinds of greenery," Gaines said in a recent Instagram video where she's decorating an in-store display. "And if you want that really fun hit of color, weave in this fun little iced berry."
Gaines specifically loves the look of silver pine garlands and stems because of the soft gray-blue tones they bring to an arrangement. "Any time you put red with it, or even this burgundy, it's such a pretty contrast," she continued.
Bulking it up with either another strand of the same texture and color or something with a bit of contrast can build up the silhouette and give your holiday garland more impact.
