A new outdoor space on the Manhattan side of the Brooklyn Bridge, called The Arches, offers over a dozen tall shade trees and sixteen benches, connecting the bridge to Chinatown.
Deputy Mayor Meera Joshi emphasized the importance of public space, stating, "Public space in Manhattan is precious every acre counts for the people who live, work in, and visit our bustling metropolis."
The Arches will also include a new skate area, designed in collaboration with Tony Hawk's The Skatepark Project, celebrating the site's rich history for New York skateboarding.
Mayor Eric Adams highlighted the ongoing revitalization effort, noting, "We have miles to go to complete our whole vision for this area, but we are grateful to celebrate the wins."
