Lazio's decision to fire Juan Bernabe, the man in charge of their eagle mascot, was based on the seriousness of his inappropriate online conduct following surgery.
Despite his dismissal, Bernabe defended his actions, claiming that nudity is normal and stating he grew up in an open-minded, naturist family.
Lazio expressed shock at the images and reinforced their stance that they can no longer be associated with a person whose behavior made continued relationship impossible.
Bernabe, a known far-right sympathizer, previously drew controversy for performing fascist salutes and expressing admiration for historical fascist figures like Mussolini and Franco.
