Lynn 18-year-old who allegedly pushed her brother during an argument is now in ICE custody
Briefly

Zeneyda Barrera, an 18-year-old with legal work status, was detained by ICE after being arrested for allegedly pushing her younger brother during a dispute over a cell phone. Although Barrera was charged with misdemeanor assault, her lawyer indicated she was set to enter a diversion program, as the case was considered minor with no injuries or prior incidents. Following her release from Lynn District Court, ICE agents took her into custody. Barrera's family, who came to the U.S. seeking asylum, is concerned about her detention despite her legal status.
